I live in Van Metre home in Southern Walk and need to paint the baseboards, trim, etc., and am hoping to find the name of the color used without having to remove something to get a paint match. Anyone know what the color is and who makes it?

    Thanks!

I believe that all of the paints for VM houses were McCormick Paints and I believe the base wall color was called Moon Mist. There is a store off Rt 50 that sells the paint. The gloss paint I don't remember the name of. You can always call Van Metre customer care and ask them. Their number is 703-723-2818

They should have given you a touchup kit when you bought the house. I had to ask for mine though at final walkthru.

I have the paint 411 at home. Will post this evening when I get home.

There is also a McCormick paint store in Leesburg. Shopping center across from Target.

I love how builders and the such seem to be in cahoots with paint companies like Duron, McCormick, etc. I went to buy some semi-gloss trim paint at Duron and my special DIY price was "only" $37/gallon. Crazy. You can buy the top rated paints on consumer reports for ~$20/gallon (behr, valspar, etc.). I guess the incentive is cheap prices for the contractor on new construction paint in order to get the consumer to go to their store later and pay jacked-up rates? *grumble*

I did have to buy some Duron paint the other day and it was cheaper to buy it at Tart Lumber than at the regular Duron store... go figure =)

L0stS0ul is right about the Moon Mist. The trim is McCormick Designer White. There is also a store in Tyson's.

I was so fed up with Van Metre, I decided not to wait around for a touch up kit and bought my own paint.

BTW - I bought a gallon of McCormick's high-end flat paint to do one of our bedrooms, and it did really well. We almost didn't need a second coat, even though it is bright yellow.
