Hi! Can anyone advise whether it is possible to pay the monthly HOA fees via online banking? I've placed several calls to Armstrong Management and keep getting voice mail. Although I've left a message, no return call yet.

    Thanks -- Carol

I have them automatically deduct the amount from our checking account each month.

I was actually going to do just that, but was afraid to do so because of past experiences with Armstrong Mgmt claiming I paid late sometimes, etc.

How long have you been paying through BOA, and have you run into any issues with Armstrong claiming something wasn't paid or having them claim they got the payment after the 10th of the month?

    Thanks!

I've been paying through BofA for about 16 months now and have never had one issue. I pay almost all my bills on-line. It's free, quick, easy and I save tons on stamps, too!

I agree - BofA here too - for everything.
Never had a problem with HOA - It's quick and they pay within two days.

Thanks. I use BoA for ALL our bills, except the ones going to Armstrong. I have found their billing dept to be unorganized in the past, and in some cases, they have 'played games' regarding holding onto checks before cashing them and claiming payment was late. My concern was that using a 3rd party to pay them might actually make it easier for them to claim late payments and harder for me to resolve the issue. It's interesting that most of my issues started after the late payment fees went up dramatically a couple years ago...

Since most of you here haven't had any issues, I'll give it a shot starting with the next payment.

    THANKS!

I use BoA as well, but I remember when i set it up, years ago, that armstrong never got the payments that I sent to the address on those envelops, so I send itdirect to their fairfax office... *shrug*

I have been paying on line for about 2 years now. I have never had a problem until recently. I received a "late" notice a couple of month's ago.
I went to my BOA account, thinking that I may have forgotten to pay it. Well, I did pay it, and per my account, they received it prior to the "late" date.
I called them, and after they pulled up my account it was oops, our mistake.
Other than that, no other problems. I pay everything on line. You do have a record of when they receive it on you're account through you're bank. So as far as them playing games, they can't. You have "proof" of when they received it.

Yep, I agree 100%. What bothers me is the time I have to spend every few months proving to Armstrong that they made a mistake...

And everyone paying online (except Boomertsfx :)) uses the address/info on the pay stub that we normally mail in, correct?

well all I tried online banking for the HOA fees for the first time starting with August...and now I am in a battle with Armstrong saying they've never received my payment. I'm faxing them a copy of the bank statement showing it was processed on 03 August but what a headache!!! Is this pretty typical? All the other payees have received my payments via online banking just fine.

Last month, we sent 2 on-line payments to Armstrong for our 2 HOA fees - they applied our 2 HOA payments to only 1 of our HOA fees...it took multiple calls, faxes and emails to prove we sent the correct account #'s and funds...

Who do you bank with? Normally the bank takes care of this as part of their service. Similar to how Credit cards handle contested charges for you.

Or do you mean paying through armstrong itself?

We use USAA for on-line bill pay. When we sent the payments to Armstrong we noted the two account numbers for the HOA payments...it seems that Armstrong made an error and in turn tried to charge us a late payment, however they later credited it back once we proved that we had sent the correct payments. None the less it was a bit of a pain to prove that Armstrong had not applied the funds correctly.

I have used Chevy Chase bill payer for almost 3 years wtihout ever having a problem. If this happens again, just contact your bank and let them handle it. They should contact Armstrong and straighten it out.

This also happened to us on more then one occasion! As soon as we starting paying through the bank (Wachovia), they've never claimed my on time payment was late! If they do say it's late, the bank is more then happy to remind them it was on time!
