Can anyone provide comments/feedback/recommendations on pet boarding and shipping services?

We've just learned our house will not be available for about 4-6 weeks after our arrival. And since the temps are still in the 150's and above, I also would rather wait till the weather cools a bit before shipping our 3 cats.

Therefore I am seeking a service which boards as well as takes care of the international shipping.

Places I have uncovered via research thus far include:

    Action Pets Express (Leesburg)

    Old Mill (Leesburg)

    Pet Club (Chantilly)

So in sum, I'm looking for a place which will offer quality care, give loving attention to our cats and also be affordable!!!

Lastly, if there is someone out there who would also be willing to take in our 3 cats for 4-6 weeks max and then ship them to us, I'd be happy to hear from you too.

Feel free to email privately if you wish: delhi4cats@gmail.com

    ...Carol

I've always had great service from Club Pet. Good luck with the cats.

great place...we have used them in the past. Olde Mill was okay, but our dogs came down with kennel cough...so we stopped using them

Also you may want to check with www.everythingandthedog.com (we use them for walking and overnight home visits) ask for Lydia...they may also have some resources

Curious...did your dogs at Olde Mill get kennel cough in spite of have the shot to prevent it from your vet? Usually boarding kennels won't accept dogs without having proof of that shot.

We also have used both Dulles Executive and Olde Mill for our dog...

I like both places - Old Mill has nicer facilities (with indoor/outdoor runs instead of just indoor) but I just get warmer fuzzies at Dulles from the people there. Not that the staff are bad at Olde Mill but it's very busy and it just seemed to me that my dog was just like every other dog. At Dulles, the staff always says something about him when I pick him up and it just seems more personable. Nothing wrong with Olde Mill and the staff were friendly the two times we've used them - they just didn't go that extra little bit that the staff did at Dulles Executive.

That's a great question. Yes, we did have proof of the shot...but our older dog has been the million dollar pup since we've had her. However Olde Mill was great about the whole thing...but we opted to stick with a in home dog sitter...as it seemed to be really stressful on our older dog, our younger one loved both places (Olde Mill and Dulles Executive).
