I know this isn't just me because there are other experiences/reviews online, but I'm beginning to doubt reliability at this business. I ship to the UK regularly, most recently a simple card and envelope. Dispatched via Postal Masters at a higher rate than USPS (I'm trying to do my bit for local small biz). I usually throw a few stamps on an envelope and hope for the best, but thought I'd be safe this time. However, nearly 2 1/2 weeks later and the card still hasn't arrived. This isn't the first time either. (Normal delivery is 5-8 biz days)

Am I alone in this? What are your options if you haven't paid the earth for guaranteed delivery - which really you shouldn't need for a simple US-UK greeting card mailing.

Sounds like a lot of fuss over nothing, but it was a personalized Shutterfly card which wasn't exactly cheap!

Is it worth a conversation with the owner even though I have not tracking number or receipt anymore? Given the keen competition down the block, I'm starting to wonder whether he even values the custom he has, barely a smile or a greeting when you go in there. I quite frankly wonder why I bother.

    Rant over.

Definitely talk to the owner. He's very proactive on stuff like this. I bet you're missing something in the way the problems is manifesting itself. Also, he has good records so maybe he'll be able to tell you more than what you are hoping for.

Personally, I'd just ship USPS. If his rates are higher and service no better than USPS, you are just doing your part in proping up a failing business that is bound to succumb at a later date anyway.

PDILLM - I will do from now on. It took 3 weeks for the card to finally arrive! I'm all about supporting local businesses but only if the service is reliable.

You do realize Postal Masters doesn't actually deliver? They facilitate your interaction with the companies that do deliver. I am going to guess any issues with delivery time is more the problem of the company delivering the mail, not with who helped you get it to that company.

Yes I realize that! But as I mentioned in my original post, this isn't the first time they've facilitated poorly! It's quite possible it's not them, but to happen more than once isn't a good batting average! Never had any problems with UPS or USPS outlets.
