HOA Question Replacing front door and shutter question

Hello,

Over the winter our builder installed front door has managed to get water inside the panes of glass and the builders source won't warranty it because we're at 6 years in the house so we've decided we want to upgrade the front door to a much nicer one.

I know that the door layout with glass and the options we choose all have to be approved and I've seen what we want many times in other homes in the neighborhood so I'm not that concerned about that.

Our question is mainly about colors. As background information our home has the burgundy front door with burgundy shutters. We are in a row of 4 houses that all have these red/burgundy shutters which I believe was not supposed to happen anyway from the design center (we were the first in the row to move in)

What we want to do is go with a wood grain stained mahogany door that matches the wood color inside the house and then have the shutters painted the gray that was in the palette at the design center. This would remove all the red/burgundy from the front of the house. Either way these shutters need some love as they are very faded and look horrible now.

I know that this has to go thru the design committee and wanted to see if this would even be allowed.

While we are at it we want to change the hardware for the door and the numbers for the house to not be brass as it's all corroded now and nasty (not to mention pealing).

LOst - Please fill out an MOD application, attach color samples of the stain for the door and paint swatch for the shutters.

As for the exterior hardware, I would also attach a picture of the proposed hardware - there are specific guidelines on this item - which are not as flexible as the colors of exterior doors/shutters.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like it is possible to change the colors as long as it's approved. We'll move forward with picking stuff out then.
