Ice skating, really? I've never tried it, but it does look like fun.

"Trader's Joe," eh? I actually prefer the sound of that over "Trader Joe's." If your dad is a native speaker of Dutch, Dutch's use of the genitive must be making him switch the 's' around.

English is also my husband's second language and I love some of his references. For example, instead of saying "I'm going to put on my socks" he will say "I'm going to put on my sockses" or where typical American is to use the term 'barefoot' he says 'shoesless.' In turn, I have my own idioms when I speak to him in his language as well.

Since I do not practice my languages very much, my french, dutch and german have become pretty low level.
I am sure I say a lot of silly stuff. I moved to the states with my family when I was in 5th grade and I could not understand american
dialect at all, very different from english. Also, there were words that I did not know.
I do not have a problem with that because when you speak different languages you learn to ask how to say things.
Funny, seems so long ago that I used to sit on trains in europe and blabber to people in other languages. As a teenager it was one of my favorite activities.

hmmm with all this interest in a Trader Joe's, I wouldn't mine investing in one. Maybe start a franchise here in Ashburn. I know the area can support 2 or 3 with Brambleton and hopefully Moorefield station opening later on. Lots of healthy minded people here. Or I'll open my own version call "Trader Teak's".

Had heard about 6 months ago that w/in a year or so TJ's would be coming to Sterling. Haven't heard a peep since.

Nothing on trade joe's website about opening up a franchise. Must be company owned.

I would love a Trader Joe's. If we had one in Ashburn I would actually "go out and get a real job" and work there...
These forums are very distracting, by the way. I am supposed to be cleaning my house and making this place look like we live neat and tidy all year. For the relative's, you know.

Wow...all these exciting ideas and ventures coming here...a veggie restaurant; possibly a Trader Joe's....that would be heaven.
