Some of you may remember, we are not big fans of Vito's. Their food and service has left a lot to be desired the last 3 times we went there. But, in the spirit of that one last try...what are your favorite dishes there?

I recently came out of the hospital and some friends were very kind to us and gave us a gift certificate for the restaurant, so we thought we'd ask you all what's the best thing on their menu? Maybe we've just ordered the wrong things!? Thanks!

Get rid of the friends who gave the gift certificate! ;)

I am not a fan of San Vito, but I've heard (never had) their pizza is pretty good.

But hey, most free food is tasty!

Try the ravioli with tomato cream sauce--YUM!
It is the only dish I really care for at San Vito.

I have had consistently great experiences there. I always order off the menu and order eggplant parmesean, extra crispy. It is always delicious!

I don't like their pizzas, not even the kids ones are tasty.

I'm also a big fan of the veal. The salads are also good and they have a nice selection of wine.

The service is terrible, but the food is consistent. I love their baked ziti and their lobster ravioli in Vodka sauce.

Only Place in town with Grilled Calamari. If you like Calamari/ My favorite dish is the "Misto" A pasta dish with so much seafood you could make a seashell bikini when you're done with the shells that came in your plate.
(recommend it with the white sauce)

I don't order from the menu, I request penne with marinara. And I love the foccacia bread! They do have a problem with service, but when I go I ask to be seated in a certain waiters section that I know is capable of doing his job. I don't have his name though, but he is tall, dark hair and wears glasses.

Given the lukewarm feedback given on this forum, does anyone know how San Vito is doing? Are they keeping the place full?

I still go there. I've never had a problem with service, even on busy nights, and have always found their food to be good.

I thought just the opposite. I am a big fan of the pizza, and several of their pasta dishes have been quite nice! Also, I didn't really like the grilled calamari, (kinda chewy) but the fried is yummy and tender.

I have no idea why they call it a rainbow pizza, but we ordered one last night and we all liked it! We had good food last night (except the bread and pesto oil which is not bad, but is quite flavorless) but the service was not good. Place was maybe half full but our service was slow.

The "rainbow pizza" is shaped like a fish, from the story The Rainbow Fish

They're supposed to use a black olive for the eye. As time has gone by, they forget the eye more often than they remember it.
