I would like to thank the Broadlands Subway for hosting Santa Claus on Saturday afternoon. It put a smile on the kids face. Nice touch.

Second that. As a somewhat related aside, I like supporting many of the local businesses owned by ordinary people who live around here and who take a risk. Vince Carbone owns the Subway here and is a great guy. Always willing to support local kids' sports teams and such, works his butt off.

Unfair that the shopping center allowed another sub/deli place to open up down the sidewalk from the Subway. So if you think about it sometime, support Vince and order a party sub!

Just met the two young guys who opened up the Anytime Fitness place. Again, two nice guys wanting to own their own business and do things right. Like to see guys like this succeed.

But the other sub shop is owned and operated by a hard working Broadlands family as well.

Yeah, I've talked to the owner of puccios, he's a good guy. Makes a great sandwhich.

But there is no reason these can't coexist. Puccios is double the price of subway. It's also twice as good, but I doubt the soccer teams I see in subway will end up in puccios. Vince needs to market to a different demo.

...and Mrs. Puccio is one of the excellent second grade teachers at Hillside. My youngest loves Subway, I like Puccio's...so we go to both.
