The candidate will provide contractor support to the Office of Development, Test, and Evaluation (DT&E), within the Systems and Software Engineering (SSE) Directorate of Acquisition, Technology & Logistics (AT&L).

    Job Description:

    The ideal candidate will support the technical staff in the DT&E office with the focus on DT&E policy and planning for major DoD acquisition programs, and interface with other organizations within OSD and the Services, to ensure the effective implementation of DT&E on DoD acquisition programs.

    Primary responsibilities:

    - Perform studies and research as directed, develop position papers, and presentation materials for policy, practices and procedural matters relating to DT&E
    - Identify DT&E Best Practices for policy improvements an implementation on acquisition programs
    - Interface with the SSE/Assessments and Support (AS) staff in the program oversight and review activities in support of DT&E policy issues and recommendations
    - Provide support to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (DUSD) (AT&L) in the Overarching Integrated Product Team (OIPT) process for weapons systems milestone reviews

    Required Skills and Experience:

    - A minimum of ten years in the developmental/operational testing, and evaluation of weapons systems and/or operations support.
    - Experience with or understanding of DoD systems acquisition and software acquisition management.
    - Working knowledge of Service or OSD-level operating practices, Joint Staff, Service headquarters, and program office relationships
    - Familiarity with DoD Acquisition Management Policies and procedures
    - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
    - Proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel

    Education:

    - BS degree in engineering, science or related discipline

    - Graduate of a military Test Pilot School


    Security Clearance: Active or Current SECRET clearance required.
