    All,

i just heard that a new Christmas special airs tonight on ABC from 8:00 to 8:30 pm called "Shrek the Halls". I know that my kids really enjoy Shrek so I thought I would pass this along to everyone.

Here is a Wiki entry on the show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrek_the_Halls

Maybe this show will mean as much to the current generation as Charlie Brown/Rudolph/etc. was to my generation.

my 9 year old watched Charlie Brown for the 1st time last night and really liked it! he was never interested before. it was funny though- no WAY could a show THAT damaging to a child's esteem could EVER be made in today's world.. lol Shrek the Halls should be fun- can't wait!!!

I am looking forward to all the classic Christmas stuff. Also will be looking forward to the new ones that come out. Can't wait for the 24 hours of A Christmas Story

If you find a source that lists when all the classics will be showing locally, please post here. Don't want to miss them. I don't even know if they show The Little Drummer Boy anymore, but that's a nostalgic one.

And don't forget about "The Year Without a Santa Claus" (you know, the one with the Heat Miser and Snow Miser).

It's playing on the ABC Family Channel (DirecTV channel 311) on Monday, 12/3 at 8 p.m. (I think it repeats several times).

Every few years, something will prompt me to sing, "I'm Mr. Heat Miser..." and my son looks at me like I'm such an idiot. Ahhh, kids today don't know what they're missing :)

I googled and found a schedule of Christmas-related TV shows.

    Here's another one.

And one that definitely is not for the kids, Denis Leary's Merry F#%$in' Christmas on Comedy Central.

For SilenceDogood99: The Little Drummer Boy is on ABC Family at 7PM on Dec. 13, according to one of the schedules listed above. Enjoy!

Thanks for the detective work and heads up, Villager. I'm a sucker for sentimental stuff.

Re: Shrek the Halls - ABC Tonight--Classic Christmas Shows

    Silence Dogood and others--

You can buy the "Christmas Classics DVD Collection" online at Amazon.com and BN.com. It comes with 7 DVD classic Christmas shows which are the following--Original shows and Bonus Music CD--great for kids. We bought for our quads and twins to watch over the Holidays.

    1. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
    2. Frosty the Snowman
    3. Santa Claus is Coming to Town
    4. The Little Drummer Boy
    5. Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol
    6. Cricket on the Hearth
    7. Frosty Returns

I think I paid $23 or so. If you have a Barnes & Noble Discount card--you even save more money. Also, check out DVD called "Island of Misfit Toys".

    Seasons Greetings--

Shrek the Halls was really good! we laughed out loud alot. but to be honest- i think my son was more interested in Charlie Brown! He liked that Linus told the baby Jesus story.
