    Everyday in the United States our companion animals suffer from abuse and neglect at the hands of cruel individuals. Fortunately, here in the U.S., we have many animal welfare organizations who advocate for their rights and protection. Not so fortunate for the dogs and cats in Asia where cultural differences make it acceptable to farm dogs and cats for the table.

    What's appalling to me is not that they consume animals we consider strictly companion animals, but the hideous way they are raised, kept, and slaughtered. They can be farmed without suffering and violence.
