Just an FYI about Spore; EA has put in some nasty Digital Rights Management into this game. So, if you're going to sell it, you're going to have to take a few extra steps to make sure that whoever you sell it to can actually play the game. This is a quote straight from GameSpot Forums on this very subject:

    From the EULA:

    3. Transfer. You may make a one time permanent transfer to all your rights to install and use the Software to another individual or legal entity provided that: (a) the technical protection measures used by the Software supports such transfers; (b) you also transfer this License and all copies of the Software; (c) you retain no copies of the Software, upgrades, updates or prior versions; and (d) the receiving party accepts the terms and conditions of this License. You may not be able to transfer the right to receive updates, dynamically served content, or the right to use any online service of EA in connection with the Software. You may not be able to transfer the Software if you have already exhausted the terms of this License by authenticating the Software on the allowed number machines. Subsequent recipients of this License may not be able to authenticate the Software on additional machines. EA may require that any end user of the Software register the Software online as a condition of use and/or purchase additional licenses. NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, YOU MAY NOT TRANSFER PRE-RELEASE COPIES OF THE SOFTWARE.

    ****************

So while you can transfer the game, make sure you de-authorize any computers you installed it on using the tool you can download at spore.com. You also should give your purchaser your login and password for Spore. That would be the least amount of hassle for them. Otherwise they won't be able to use the online features. There is anecdotal evidence that someone can call EA to have them reset the registration, and I have never heard of them denying resetting someone's account if they are able to give proof they own the game. However, take that with a grain of salt since the EULA says they might require the "purchase of additional licenses"

We are the original owners of the game, so therefor have not exceeded the amount of devices it has loaded on. Plus, my son had already gone to the website to ensure the game will be usable. Plus-it's only what, $12, and we would refund if for some reason the game didn't work. We'll give it away to a friend if we don't sell it.
It's good to recycle, or things end up in the trash can.
