We are headed up to NJ for a half marathon on April 17. Given that the following week is spring break I was hoping to wrap a few extra days into our trip at Hershey Park, Sesame Place, Dutch Wonderland... something like that... but they're all closed that week!

Do you know of any fun attractions around here or north of here that are open that week which we could hit on Monday the 18th or Tuesday the 19th?

    Thanks!

What part of Jersey are you heading to? If you are near Philadelphia, sightseeing there is always an option. Six Flags great adventure in Jackson, NJ I believe is open that week. They have a drive thru safari and thrill ride park. There is also an aquarium in Camden, NJ http://www.adventureaquarium.com/Home.aspx.

    Hope this helps.

We'll be up in New Brunswick... at Rutgers. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out!

Take a ride down the Jersey Shore (no really - that's what we call it!) You can take the kids to the Point Pleasant Boardwalk where there are rides on the boardwalk (for big and small kids) and a small aquarium. Enjoy!

Are the PP boardwalk rides open that time of year? thought most of the NJ boardwalks were summer/seasonal only.

They open daily as of May 31 but they usually open up on weekends through the spring. This year's schedule isn't posted yet but you can check www.jenkinsons.com as it gets closer.

If you take Rt 78 from NJ thru PA back to VA, you could stop by the Crayola Factory. They are open year round, you will have to check their website for hours.

Had no idea about that one! Thanks! Is it really worth $10 per person?
