Sr. Exchange Administrator in Washington, DC

G&B Solutions, Inc, a management consulting and technical solutions company, is seeking an experienced Sr. Exchange Administrator to work onsite at our client location in Washington, DC.

Here are the essential job functions of the MS Exchange/Blackberry Role.

• Manage and monitor all Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 Servers and connections.
• Installation, configuration, update, and patching of Exchange 2003/2007.
• Configuration of server roles, recipients, groups and mailboxes.
• Configuration, replication and management of settings, public folders and associated hierarchies.
• Establishment of folder and mailbox permissions and access.
• Movement of mailboxes and implementation of bulk management configurations
• Configuration and management of filtering, spam and viruses.
• Monitoring queue and queue thresholds, manage, find specific messages within, force retry within, and delete messages from mail queues.
• Storage management, capacity planning, cluster configuration, management and failover.
• Monitor system performance, mailbox statistics, and hardware to proactively project upgrades and capacity needs. Provide daily and weekly reporting.
• Generation of ongoing server availability, performance, message queue, database and usage reports.
• Planning for disaster recovery of the servers and server functions, perform backups, backup jobs
• Support for the recovery of damaged databases, messages, and mailboxes.
• Monitoring, management and troubleshoot using tools such as perfmon, event viewer, MMC, EXBPA, HTTPMon, exchange management shell, PowerShell, message tracking tool.
• Configuration and promotion of domain controllers
• Adding or removing servers from the Exchange organization
• User account management and creation
• Moving user accounts and their associated mailboxes to new OUs and Exchange servers
• Installing new or updated software
• Manage Blackberry 5.0 Server Infrastructure
Qualifications Required
• At least 4 years experience in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer network.
• At least 3 years experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
• At least 3 years experience in a large organization responsible for deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment.
• Thorough knowledge of computer network telecommunications, Windows Server operating systems, and the TCP/IP protocol.
• Thorough knowledge of network management protocols and related standard tools.
• Thorough knowledge of network-based application software such as Exchange, and SMS.
• Thorough knowledge of telecommunications, network, and computer security issues and established security practices.
• At least 4 years experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions.
• 2 years in testing and implementing PC/LAN technologies and computer system applications.
• 3 years networking administration experience in a large organization or corporation.
• Experience evaluating current networks, identifying deficiencies, and recommending performance improvements.
