Traffic circle is the "correct" name according to whom? They are called Islands, Rotary's and round a bouts amongst other things I'm sure depending on your geographic location or upbringing.

I did not say people should be speeding, I said it slowed progress of traffic. A 1mph speed limit would appease i'm sure but I did not say I wish to drive faster.

Again, no statistics have been produced, only anecdotal evidence and opinion. Mine is no more incorrect than anyone else's - that's why it's called an opinion.

I seem to have antagonized a couple of people and that wasn't my intent as a newbie here. I will bow out of this thread. Have what remains of a pleasant evening all.

I was just saying that traffic in a residential neighborhood, which is what the OP was talking about, should be slow. I'm sure we can agree that there are 4-way stops on non-residential streets that could be handled in a more efficient manner. However, all drivers should follow the traffic laws even if we don't agree with the necessity of them.

Not having an accident just means you haven't tried to occupy a space at the same time as another driver...sounds like you're lucky!

As for the ticket, that just tells me I haven't spent enough time in Broadlands!! :policelight:

I was just frozen when I watched a gray small SUV, female Asian driver holding a cup of coffee, relaxed, not texting or on the phone drive on Claiborne and approach Ridgeway going about 35-40 mpg and go right through the stop sign without slowing down or slight awareness of the stop sign.

I watched this happen because I briefly stopped on the corner of Claiborne and Ridgeway to turn right as she was approaching.

I just sat there and could not believe this was actually happening in front of my eyes and watched it like a movie.

    WOW!
