We're new to Southern Walk, and I suppose when its a bit warmer we will get out and explore.

In another thread I saw mention of a walking path in SW, and while I have seen bits of it by the school off Ridgeway, I'm wondering where it goes. Where is the other end of it? Also, are there any playgrounds in this part of Broadlands that we haven't found yet?

    Thanks!

Me and my wife walked on walking path and I can not help notice how close they were to some people's back yard ... I wonder if they knew how close their yard was to the walking path when they selected their lots ....

There are three community playgrounds in Southern Walk at this point that I am aware of: one near the Nature Center/tennis courts; one next to the Southern Walk pool/basketball court; and one in between the Southern Walk apartments and the Courtyard homes off Milford. I think that there are plans for more though. If this weather ever breaks for good...

In fact, the walking paths off of Ridgeway are very new--just being completed as last Fall turned to Winter. So I imagine that a lot of people will be exploring them in the Spring. Some of those houses will probably really be noticing how close they are too.

This is the case all over Broadlands, and no, I do not believe many people who buy houses anywhere in Loudoun, not just in Broadlands, can read a development plan to realize that their house can be bordered and constrained by varying types o frights-of-way, roads not yet built , property that is currently woods, but could be new houses, etc ...

The path from Ridgeway by the nature center goes up to Stone Hollow. There is a branch that goes to one of the cul-de-sacs off Ridgeway, too.

The path gets a surprising amount of use. We're in one of those houses that backs up to it. We were very surprised to see how tiny our backyard is - it is hard to tell from a map. However, we are glad to have the open space behind us, even if we have to share it. Just don't look in the windows if you don't want to see me in my PJ's! I'm hoping those trees grow fast.

Hi, we're new as well - go to the Nature Center and ask for the maps/etc. that show the walking trails and neighborhoods. Good luck!
