System Support Specialist in Washington, DC

G&B Solutions, Inc. has an opportunity for a System Support Specialist I in Washington, DC.

Job Description:

• Responding to user helpdesk requests for assistance in a timely manner.
• Deploying and maintaining approved new/upgraded hardware and software technology and BLS required security patches and any associated project plans.
• Managing the creation, modification, and deletions of network user accounts.
• Managing the creation, modification, and deletions of Exchange mail user accounts and groups.
• Attending meetings, arriving promptly when scheduled.
• Participate in evaluating, installing, and maintaining computing technology for the client-server, web, and multi-tier architecture environments.
• Providing technical assistance for IPP application developers with the interoperation of network components and application-level software.
• Monitoring the operation, performance, and security of network components and services.
• Assisting in the maintenance of inventory.
• Responding to email and phone contact (both cell and land line) in a timely manner.
Qualifications Required
• At least 1 year experience in administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a computer network.
• At least 1 year experience in deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment.
• Knowledge of computer network telecommunications, Windows Server operating systems, and the TCP/IP protocol.
• Knowledge of network management protocols and related standard tools.
• Knowledge of network-based application software such as Exchange and SMS.
• Knowledge of telecommunications, network, and computer security issues and established security practices.
