    Fellow Foodies--

We saw recently where That's Amore restaurant in Potomac Run Shopping Center (where Target is located) is now closed. We were planning to eat there for lunch today and apparently the restaurant closed down.

That's Amore's web site still shows locations opened in MD areas. Guess the restaurant wasn't doing well. We enjoyed eating there in the past--oh well! Web site is below--

I don't see the one in Vienna listed either. I guess that one has closed too.

Good, I got shammed there a few years ago when we tried to have our rehearsal dinner there. Manager tried to change some stuff in our contract and when I told him no, we had a deal, he told us at the last minute no deal and gave me our deposit back, 5 days before our wedding. I vowed never to go there again.

I personally think it's a shame. We frequented the place for almost 10 years on a regular basis and rarely had a bad experience.

I guess they just couldn't compete with all the new Dulles restaurants.

For my two pennies worth, I think they their marketing was flawed. Trying to appeal on one hand to large dining parties, and on the other trying to flog the "romantic dining" appeal.

Come what may, the food was great and the staff (the regulars anyway) were friends of ours. Apparently the management gave no notice to staff or customers.

Best of luck to them all.

If anyone is looking for family style dining try Maggiano's in Tyson's. The food is awesome! Plus the food keeps coming out if you ask for more. That is something that That's Amore did not offer.

Michelangelo's right here in Broadlands is great. You could call ahead and ask about family style dining- I bet they would accomodate.
