So we all like to spend our money and time on experiences that are worth it every penny and minute, yes? and i have to admit i'm guilty of using opinion of total strangers here (albeit nice people online!) in this forum to help decide what to try and where to avoid.

of course we ask friends and neighbors as well- and often try things for ourselves, but i've definitely noticed how much weight i give to opinions in here.

anyone else done this, and then found that the majority rule in here has been EXACTLY the opposite of what you found when you checked out the place on your own...?

just curious... with too much time on my hands... lol

Yup, only because most the complaints come from those who just live life complaining about anything all the time.

I try to use peoples oponions as somewhat of a baseline. If people say a place is good I will try it before I try the place everyone complains about. But realizing that everyone has different tastes is important to think about when listening to all these complaints.
