Tornando warning

Ashburn is under tornado warning until 2:45, just curious, what is policy of schools when it is a warning, not just a watch?

Belmont Station held their buses, not sure when they'll release them.

 

Kids were just starting to board the buses at Mill Run and they were pulled off and brought back into the school. We all (I was there too, as were many parents) stayed in the hallway for about 15 minutes until it was deemed that it was safe to get kids back on the buses.

Kudos to Mr. Vickers and his staff for keeping us all safe and calm. He communicated very calmly and clearly to keep us informed about what was going on and how long it was expected to last.

 

I saw the funnel cloud forming just behind the school close the the tennis courts and claiborne parkway. I yelled to my wife to come see and she promptly screamed and ran back into the house!

It did not touch down that I could see but it was amazing and literally just as the kids were coming out. The school did the right thing and quickly sprang into action. This was no joke. I am glad that they took it seriously.

I was driving on the Waxpool fly-over when this thing headed towards Sterling.
