I live in southernwalk and I have had enough with the 6-630am trash collection 3 times a week. I have contacted AAA and requested a later start time. I have also contacted Loudoun County to verify noise ordinance rules. Crazy but 6am is the officially sanctioned start time. Is anyone else annoyed by this situation, if so let me know. Many voices are stronger then 1.

    Adam-
I wish I had your problem. I usually don't get trash/recycle pick up until the afternoon........after there's been plenty of time for trash to blow all over the place!

I also had to call and complain b/c they have been throwing everybody's trash can's all around the street. I did notice this time they were a little better.

Most often they need that early of a start time to complete their rounds for day.

I believe the contract does say they should not be picking up trash until 7:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM. If they don't finish by 5, then (IMHO) they need to get additional trucks here so they do.

They also have to clean up any spills and a 'reasonable' attempt to clean up trash left near pickup locations.

However, I'm checking with Wes Schroeder to verify the contract terms.

Pickup has been getting earlier ... it was around 7:30 - 8:30 AM before ... but this morning it was around 6:30 AM .... I do not mind the early pickup but trash truck makes so much noise ( I can not hear my daily morning airplanes fly over !! )
    :D

I have noticed a new pattern in the trash collection in the Southern Walk neighborhood. I live right near the Nature Center, and the trash trucks used to hit our area first on the way in (at around 6:00 am). In the past couple of weeks, I have noticed they are collecting from our house on the way out of Southern Walk (around 8:00 to 8:30). So they are hitting this section at the same time, just starting on the other side. Whether this is good or not depends on your perspective.

I talked to Wes, and he's looking into it.
