Has anyone used "The Care of Trees" for tree work? Also has anyone used Bonnie Deahl who works for that company? Thanks

You didn't receive any replies but I have the same question. Did you end up using them?

We ended of using them for some of the immediate work that we had which consisted of crowning an oak, shaping and moderate trimming of a crepe myrtle and removing a stump although they outsourced this to a subcontractor. Some of the longer term work we are going to use a different firm called Growing Earth Tree Care. We found out that to have a firm come out and do any work will be roughly between $400-500 and that once they are on your property the incremental work is a lot less in cost. We were happy working with Bonnie and Care of Trees they did a good job and the cleanup was great. Hope that helps.

What do you mean by crowning an oak? Is that the same as topping a tree?

I've been spending some time researching tree removal companies for some trees that came down during the big snows (I'm a little late getting started, aren't I?) and thought I'd share some leads.

I haven't used any of the companies yet but to save someone else some research time, here are a few companies that get high ratings and no complaints from the Better Business Bureau that I found recommended on various websites. As I said, I haven't used them but they look like some good candidates to contact for estimates (I did). Hope it helps!

    SavATree (Northern VA Tree Service)

Has anyone recently used one of the tree services and have recommendations? We lost a couple of large branches from a tree during Sunday's storm and want to save it - hoping to have it pruned it. It is probably a 50 foot tree....

We ended up using Tim Corbin's tree service to take down our big leyland cypress trees. I think it was about $200/tree to take them down and grind the stumps. Corbin's was one of the less expensive options. Growing Earth sounds like a good company but was much more expensive.

Yes we used Bonnie Deahl/'The Care of Trees' about 2.5 years ago. They did good work, but a bit pricey. I guess you pay for what you get. She followed up recently but I haven't responded. Trees in our yard are quite thinned out now after last winter...

We used Care of Trees twice, Bonnie Deahl, and were very pleased with their services. Once Bonnie came out to consult with us, did a little work, gave us some advice and didn't charge us for the visit.
