I have a very large, very dead tree in my yard. I'm looking for a tree service to cut it down. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks.

I have used Rose's Tree & Handyman Service. Bobby Rose is the owner. They are very reasonable. 540-522-2179. Good luck!

If it is on HOA property then make sure you contact the HOA. They should remove it at their cost not yours.

Dead trees can be removed without an application

Yes, the HOA will remove dead trees on common property, but usually not a single tree at a time unless it poses a danger to surrounding properties. It is less expensive to have a tree service come in to remove several at a time...BTW the funds from the HOA accounts are"your" money...all the members' money! Management and the Board are charged with managing the funds but it is not "theirs"...it is ours (spoken as a resident - not an employee!) ;D

We used Growing Earth Tree Care a few years ago to remove two very tall trees that were within 10ft of our townhouse in Reston. As you can imagine it was a tricky removal and they executed it without any issues. They are also quite focused on tree preservation and the environment which makes it that much nicer to give them business. Here is the link to their website:

I got the information for Bobby Rose's Tree removal service from the forum. Thank you.

He just came out and removed the dead tree and trimmed an overgrown hedge on the side of the house. Did a great job at a very reasonable rate. I would recommend him -
