This is the first Halloween we have been in the Broadlands, and we have no idea how trick-or-treating works around here. Are there specific hours? Also, I'm curious as to how many kids usually go out. When I lived in Herndon and Reston we got one or two kids each year. We were in apartment/condo housing, though, so that may have made a difference. Can anyone provide insight?

    Thanks!

Kids start coming when it gets dark. I have had kids come as late as about 8:30. We usually get between 30 and 70 kids depending on the year - weather, night of the week, etc. It depends on what street you live on - the numbers can vary a lot from year to year.

Thanks for the info! I'm excited to finally live in a neighborhood where kids still go trick-or-treating on Halloween. :)

We are on a cul-de-sac off the beaten path, if you will, in Southern Walk. We get about 100 kids or so. They start at maybe 5:15 and go until 7:30. After 7:30 we get the stragglers up until maybe 8:30/9pm. I will admit that we are essentially the only ones with younger kids out on the streets at 7:45pm, but my kids have later bedtimes than normal anyways. Otherwise, it's typically your middle school & early HS kids after 8pm.

    Enjoy!
