(UNIX) Computer Security Specialist 1 in Washington, DC

G&B Solutions, Inc, a management consulting and technical solutions company, is seeking a Computer Security Specialist 1 to work onsite at our client location in Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate will assist a small Unix team with the administration of Unix based Sun Solaris sparc environment. In addition to normal administration duties the candidate will perform / assist with security auditing, patching, vulnerability mitigation tasks on the Sun servers.
Qualifications Required
• At least 1 - 2 years experience administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a computer network.
• At least 1 year experience deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment.
• Knowledge of computer network telecommunications UNIX operating systems, and the TCP/IP protocol.
• Knowledge of network management protocols and related standard tools.
• Knowledge of telecommunications, network, and computer security issues and established security practices.
• Experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions.
• At least 1 year experience in IT customer/user service, either in person, over the phone, or both.
• At least 1 year experience performing computer security activities such as incident analysis and response, threat analysis and mitigation, vulnerability assessment, or computer forensics.
• Experience with industry standard information security technology products (such as IDS, SIM/SEM, VPN, forensic tools, or vulnerability scanners).
