Anyone know which direction the Shuttle will be flying toward Dulles and if it will fly over Ashburn? or Reston?

I thought about heading down to Udvar-Hazy Center but it may be a madhouse.

I am bringing my binoculars to work ;-) 10th floor in Fairfax with a view of Dulles Airport should be good enough.

I don't think flight plan is public, just a few spots where it's supposed to fly over. I would bet that Udvar-Hazy is going to be crazy. I would stay in Ashburn and hope to get a glimpse.

It will be flying around quite a bit around DC.
It's doing a special fly-by over my building here in Vint Hill this morning, but I'm getting off work in an hour and will be home sound asleep! Oh well.
I haven't been able to confirm if it will do a fly by at Dulles before landing.

I am fortunate in that my building is only several hundred yards from where the plane will land. My window also faces that way. My desk will be popular in the office! :)

FYI - I take 28 to get to my office in Chantilly and pass by the Udvar-Hazy exit. There were LOTS of people going in there at 8:15AM. Only 2000 parking spaces are available, so if you were going to head out there, better make it quick.

I also noticed quite a few people camped out at Sully Park, on the other side of 28 from the airport, across from the exit.

If you're seriously thinking of seeing the shuttle land and haven't left yet, I would suggest you leave now, otherwise, you might not find a spot...

It is pretty crazy right now. They closed down the exits to Udvar-Hazy about 45 minutes. People are parking where ever they can, including along Rt 28. Sully Plantation is full. Lots of people parked farther away and are walking up. Will take a while to clear out afterwards

Yep, saw it a few minutes ago from the window in my office. Followed by a fighter or similar a minute later.

I can confirm that most of the state of VA was on 28 at around 9am...

Not allowed to have a camera (or cell phone) in the building.

And if I could, I would be taking pics of the cars parked every where!

Dozens of cool pics from friends on Facebook! It's neat that we get to enjoy these things, living in this area.

Woo hoo! Watching from my deck. Just did a flyby at Dulles and turned and flew directly over my house! What a view!
