Does anyone have any experience with Vintage 50 in South Riding (Home Depot plaza). They appear to be a type of brew pub/restaurant.
I tried to make a reservation today for next saturday but they only allow a "call ahead." I have to call on that day at 5pm and hope that they can accomodate me. Does that system work?
    Thanks,
    Ron

The food is hit or miss, some things we ordered were very good and other things were disappointing. The wine and beer lists will not disappoint though as extensive as they are.

I liked it but I would not go out of my way to go again, maybe if I were in the area. We used a $25 coupon from restaurant.com that cost us $2.

    Have Fun,

    Steve,
Thanks for your suggestion about restaurant.com
I went there and bought a $25 gift cert for $10. Good deal.

My reactions to Vintage 51 -
atmosphere is loud - not necessarily a bad thing but don't expect quiet and intimate.
    service (Michelle) was excellent
Food and drinks were very good
    fondue for two was excellent
    salad was good
I ordered the special ribeye steak which was very good and the portion very generous but the cost was $40. That's Morton's pricing - yikes.
Also, my wife and I ordered Grey Goose martinis which were $11.50. The steak dinner at $40 and martinis at $11.50 definitely caught me off guard. My wife's entree was very good and the creamsicle cream brulee for dessert was very good.
Advice - get the restaurant.com gift certs and save money.
Overall - good restaurant but over priced.
    Ron

I went to Vintage 51 for lunch with a friend, and I will never go back - and I will tell my friends not to go there either.

Food was awful, service was bad - the waitress gave me a chewed up pen to sign with - gross!

It isnt that hard to make a pastrami sandwich, but my friend's was so over cooked, it was black and not edible. My salad was bland and gritty.

That location is the kiss of death to most restaurants. Unless they fix the food, prices and services, it will be history before too long.
