Modern Mom Magazine is looking for the best suggestion for a birthday bash for a girl or boy, Party must be for 10-15 kids, be eco-friendly (no junky toys in goody bags), environmentally conscious, community centric, cost under $200, teach the children a valuable community or environmental lesson, and be fun! fun! fun!

Not only will the winning entry be featured in the next issue of the magazine, but Modern Mom will host the party.

Good luck with your contest! My kids area 14 and 18 now. I for one would be glad to see the end of "goody bagging" at all levels. It has really gotten out of hand!

UH, Hey kids time to get ready to go.

Come on...it's a birthday party, the gifts come to the birthday girl or boy, in return the attendees have a good time of fun at the party. Equals out in my mind. Same goes for Weddings.

For my child's party I bought a group of books used from eBay and gave them away as the "goody." They looked like new. Goody bags seem to be the norm so I tried to do something that wasn't plastic, crap, or made in China. The theme was Clifford the Big Red Dog so I gave away Clifford books. But then I'm kind of a nerd about reading books...
