    Hi
when I purchased did not realize that I need a filter with that. water does not taste good in that. Its been 3 years but we dont drink water from the refrigerator.Per the customer supports sugegstion , I even threw out couple of gallons of water still no use.

Today I read in whirlpool web site that we can get a filter fixed.
    http://www.applianceaccessories.com...&Category=Whirlpool Brand@Refrigerator@Filter

Can any one suggest me a store near by where I cna buy and get it fixed. Or any other ideas to eb able to drink that water :-(

    Thanks

We buy our filters for GE fridge from Home Depot ... they might have one for your whirlpool ... I thought they sell whirlpool appliances at home depot ... good luck

Probably cannot add to your existing refrigerator. Best bet may be to buy a new fridge with one included or look into adding a purifying system to your sink faucet.

Try this system from Culligan, its fairly inexpensive and fairly easy to install. http://www.culligan.com/explore.cfm/discoveryoursolution/doityourselffilters/drinkingwaterfilters/ic1000/?s=1000003

    Good luck!

Adding a filter shouldn't be a big problem...the biggest obstace you would probably face is mounting the unit on the back of the fridge. It's just a simple inline in->out system...shut off water, drain, cut existing supply line from wall to fridge inlet in the middle, put new filter in place, turn on water, check for leaks, run system for 5m to flush lines/filter. Should be able to retrofit any fridge yourself and avoid paying someone to do it for you.

Thanks so much. I will probably have to look out for someone as me and my husband are not good at these things ( trust me we struggle to caulk :) ) .

Please help me in finding someone who wont rip me off for doing this.

FWIW .. the kits available at Lowes are very easy to install, they connect to the existing piping, and have good instructions.
