We heard from a neighbor they are building a bunch of townhomes along Waxpool Road just past the little league field. From the signs, there is a hearing about this next Monday Nov. 19th at 6 PM in Leesburg. Noticed it the other day posted along that road, but it doesn't say much. Does anyone know more about this new development? (type of townhomes?) Are they widening this part of Waxpool or paving it? We were sad to hear they'd be doing even more construction in this area as we kind of like the old part of Waxpool Road. The other aspect is that all that construction run off goes along a stream running right into the drinking water reservoir. Just curious if any one is more familiar? There is also another construction that may be already approved called the Reserve at Waxpool. Don't know anything about this new community either? The townhomes would seem to create a bunch of traffic on that road near the ball field... We guess they are trying to get this project pushed through in 2007. Just curious of other peoples thoughts on these new townhomes nearby. We're not opposed to people getting a home in the area as we love it, but we are saddened by the natural look that keeps being developed. (this was posted as a reply, but thought we'd do as a thread also). Does anyone have further info or know about this new project?
    Thanks!

All I know is that I first heard about it in the Spring (?) that area behind the Vet and corner near the ballfield would have houses on it.

Palisades at Waxpool has made an application to Loudoun County to REZONE that area for high density townhouses. There is a public hearing at the Loudoun County Planning Commission 1 Harrison Street, Leesburg on November 19th at 6:00 PM. Building townhouses there is a bad idea and please voice your opinions at the meeting next Monday.

Well the unfortunate thing a lot of developers are trying to get rezoning's and approvals before the outgoing BOS board is gone. THey are mad that they lost so there is most likely going to be a lot of approvals in their last days for their developer buddies. The BOS agenda is so crowded that they are scheduling extra meetings. You can watch it on TV on the local government channel tonight and tomorrow night.
And until they are gone Jan 1 2008. Very Good chance many of these developments will get approved as I doubt they are going to listen to the people that voted them out.

There is a rumor floating around on another blog that Steve Snow and Mick Staton will be a no show for the rest of BOS meetings because they are so upset they lost.

Could we only be so lucky.
