WEGMANNS!

Just got back from the training / customer service opening of Wegmann's and it is awesome! Their store hours are not very late though.

 

Please excuse my ignorance, but what kind of store is this? I pass it everyday, but have no clue as to what it is. Thanks

 

This is actually the second forum on Wegmans ... which is spelled with one "N" and not two. They are a high-end, full service grocery (with an in-store cafe) based in Rochester NY and well-established throughout central/western NY State and central PA. They get deeply involved with most communities they serve, sponsoring many local events and scholarships for students that work there. I grew up near Syracuse knowing almost nothing but Wegmans, and have been sadly disappointed by every Safeway and Giant I've entered since coming to the DC area.

Wegmans is often compared with Harris-Teeter, although I believe that Wegmans is far better in quality and service. They were ranked #3 in the country by Consumer Reports last year in the "grocery store" category. I encourage everyone to look at www.wegmans.com ... the Dulles store opens 2/29!!!

 

I was also invited to the open house/training. What a great pace! Everyone was very nice and the food was great. Can't wait to shop there every week!

I have lived in an area where there was a Wegmans. I emailed them to ask some questions and let them know I was excited about them opening. They emailed back with an invitation. It's opening on the 29th. Can't wait!
