Their hours of operation are like closed at 8pm and 7pm which I thought was rather early and thus made me concerned that everytime I want to shop there it is going to be too crowded. When I spoke to the manager about this he told me all their stores in NY are open 24-7 and that when they opened them in NJ they just were not getting the business to keep them open that long.

If there is interest, they will extend to 12am-1am which I think is a great idea. Please make sure you support Wegmans by shopping there and air your voice to keep longer hours. Wegmans is one of the few stores that listen to their customers. Maybe we can get longer pharmacy hours there too! Their pharmacy is a drive-thru.

You might want to put 'Wegmans' in the topic subject...I had no idea what you were talking about until your second paragraph.

That being said...they're only going to be open until 7pm? What kinda crap is that? I can understand cutting hours due to lack of business, but wouldn't you start out with longer hours THEN reduce them based on sales? 7pm is barely enough time for some folks in the area to get home...

I was just at the Wegmans website and noticed that all the NJ stores are open from 6am-Midnight. I randomly checked several of the PA stores and they are open 24 hours. I'm sure that this store will have hours later than 7pm. A friend of mine has taken a part-time job there after working her full-time job. I don't think they'd hire her just to work one hour an evening (6pm-7pm). Doesn't make much sense.

I am going by what was posted on their door outside and it said open till 9pm and I think 8 or 7pm on Sunday. Now it is possible this was an error but for fact they are not open till midnight as I has a conversation with the manager and he said they would "possibly" stay open until midnight. He told me their NJ stores were open till midnight that they had tried 24 hrs in NJ but did not have the business to justify it. He said here they are starting at reduced hours and by popular demand or business would extend to midnight.

Now it was night, and I did not have my glasses on but fore sure the store closes before 10pm every night. Call them, drive by, email whatever, I hope I am wrong. I tried to tell the manager that alot of people commute late from work - do family stuff and then shop. I think it's lack of knowledge of the area. I also told him Safeway and Giant are open till Midnight.

Funny. I had a conversation with people in the employment office (one who was going to be I think the assistant Manager at this store) when I was considering options of working there & they said it'd be open till at least 12am possibly 1am.

Perhaps they meant thats how long employees would be there cleaning, restocking, and closing up.

Whatever you do - make a point to go to Wegmans! I am so excited that it's opening down here. I'm from the Buffalo area and always shopped at Wegmans, and missed it so much. Whenever we go back to Buffalo, I always make it a point to shop there! They are wonderful! I must warn you....this is not a quick stop store. It's soooo big and they have so many items...plan to stay awhile! You can eat a meal right there! I'm sure they'll be open past 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. Try to remember though...this is a new area for them to open in....In WNY - there is not a traffic problem up there - so they're not used to people commuting at late hours...past 6:00.

Although I look forward to the Wegman's opening...just wait until they are open AND construction goes full board at 28 & Waxpool. You think we got traffic backups now!!! [:0]
