Come on now...is it necessary to put SO much sand/salt on our streets. One more snow storm and I can build a sand castle for the snowman to live in!!! Lighten up

Don't complain, I'd much rather have sand than salt. Up in WNY - Salt is ALL they use all winter long....we always had to replace our car mufflers every year, not to mention the cars rusting out before their time...yes even with undercoating. I do agree - they seem to use a lot of sand around here, but I'd rather have sand than salt any day.

the funny thing is when vdot came to plow at 11 last night, the first truck threw down a bunch of sand. then the third and fourth trucks plowed it all up, and didn't drop any new sand! ;-)

I never said I had an issue with the product being put down...just the amount. It's RIDICULOUS!

Nice to see you back on the forums, T8ergirl! Haven't heard much from you in a while. Hope you and T8erTot are doing well! (I know that T8erman is!)

I find it ironic that about the same time someone is complaing about too much sand on the roads there is a heated thread ongoing about the lack of plowing in Broadlands.

You know...we've had some pretty heavy rains since our last "snow storm" and all that sand is STILL not gone...

Hey Bethany Beach. I heard you're doing a beach replenishment..I hear it's supposed to be pretty crappy winter weather here in the Broadlands area over the next few days. May want to send a few trucks on Monday to load up...

It is VDOT who puts down the sand and I doubt VDOT officials read our forums...You may want to call the District Office at 703-383-8368 to register a complaint.
