Responsibilities:This resource will work on a team providing support to the USDA Web Farms and will need to have knowledge/experience in the following:
• Knowledge of Windows OS capable of performing daily troubleshooting and support in an enterprise web hosting environment.
• Experience loading and supporting standard server images, OS hardening experience, and experience developing technical documentation.
• Experience racking and cabling servers in a data center.
• The ability to interface with application programming staff for advanced network/software troubleshooting is also required.
• Advanced experience with Virtual Private Networks, SSH, Terminal services, certificate-based encryption or advanced network/server management is a plus.
• Active Directory experience – Working knowledge and or previous domain administration activities.
• Windows certifications are a plus.
• Experience working in a shared Windows environment, IIS setup, administration, and tuning experience is also desired.
• Other tech: knowledge of Security patching (Patchlink), Virus scanning (McAfee EPO) SMS, VMWare experience, Linux OS.
• Able to provide “on call” 24 by 7 support on a rotation basis.
• Understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack is a plus

Qualifications:It is highly desirable to have working experience in a datacenter or hosting environment for mission critical applications.

GSA Schedule Requirements: A Master's degree or equivalent experience of the below listed minimums for education and experience with Government customer approval: 1. With ten years specialized experience, a degree may not be required.
