Windows Systems Administrator

Overview:
NEW WORLD APPS has an immediate opening for a Windows Systems Administrator in Ashburn, Virginia, just 29 miles outside of Washington, DC. This individual will be immediately exposed to managing production IT infrastructure and will work for a dynamic managed hosting company providing secure IT services for government and commercial customers.

Job Description:
The Systems Administrator will play a critical role in configuring, installing, trouble shooting, administering documenting, and maintaining production Windows-based servers in a 24x7 production operations environment. Technologies supported include: Windows Server, IIS, Microsoft Systems Center, Drupal, and mySQL,. Activities include: Install software and hardware solutions within a world-class Internet Data Center facility. Work cooperatively on projects with other systems administrators, network engineers, and security specialists. Implement, fine-tune and administer system monitoring, performance tuning, system backup and recovery, and user management tools. Draft and create written documentation of systems, network and security processes, procedures, audits, events, trends, analysis and recommendations. Provide Tier I/II/III operational support as well as pre-production implementation support.

Job Requirements:
Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States.
Education and Work Experience: Four year Bachelors Degree required. One year of systems administration work experience.
Skills/Abilities: Self-starting, highly motivated individual with strong problem solving skills, time management skills and attention to detail. Able to work closely and cooperatively with a cross-functional team. Excellent writing skills and working knowledge of systems management tools, systems performance tuning, Microsoft Windows Server, backup and recovery, disk arrays, and RAID algorithms.
