Is CLOSING! Got an email that they will be closed as of this Wednesday the 26th due to lack of revenue. BUMMER!

You could see that coming a long time ago

Way too small and a terrible location.

That whole flex project has been a disaster from day one. Wait to the surprise the flex on the corner gets when they find nobody decent to lease. These properties should of been a residential style designed office the buildings should of looked like homes. Besides their address is murder drive and the folkelore that has been going on about these properties from a girl murdered there to you name it. Just wait to all these ugly commercial buildings start to pop up all along the so called planned communities without much buffers or transition to the residential.
Notice our politicians love to play the blame game that it is not their fault yet want to build more and more of the same junk. Just wait to see how rt 50 looks in a few years compared to the rt 7 corridor. 50 will become big box disneyland with oceans of parking which you can find in any low rent district. Rt 7 tho not p[erfect is developing in a more first class look. Both start with a clean slate. Also look where most of the money that is going to these politicians and don't be surprised it is mostly out of town developers. Before we have have more tragic closings such as work out world our politicians need to take a class is current urban design, because the old school look with a few tweaks does not work anymore.

Whatever happened to Ladies Workout Express? I was stupid enough to get a 3 year contract when they opened, and only went there 6 months. It was the most boring gym ever. I never felt like I got a good workout because they had the hydraulic machines that you can't adjust. Plus everyone wants to talk to you and I just want to get my workout done and out the door. I know, I'm anti-social!

We have a home gym now, but Anytime Fitness wasn't bad.

I'm so disappointed that WOW didn't make it. I only joined in May, but have really, really enjoyed working out there. The facility was clean and had great equipment. I liked the fact that it wasn't an overly large facility. The size was just right for me. The owners are local Ashburn folks who were always very friendly. I didn't think the location was that bad- just a 5 minute drive from home. It's always disheartening when a small, local business fails.

Are the members who still have time on their contract getting a partial reimbursement?

No, I was told that unfortunately we will not be refunded our membership fee, which was around $80.

I was going to join WOW when my membership to Anytime Fitness expires next month! What a bummer.

I like Anytime because it's not crowded, but they don't offer child care, so I don't get there as much as I would like to.

Anyone know anything about Fitness First? Or any other local gyms that have childcare?

I am a member at Gold's. I looked at FF after it opened and while I like the machines at FF better, not to mention that it is a few miles closer to my house, I'm going to stay at Gold's simply because of the childcare. I have two little boys and the reason I didn't join WOW was because of the tiny little room at WOW. My boys would have gone nuts there in 12 minutes. Gold's has a much bigger space as well as an extra "ballroom" that they open where little ones can go play with balls and kick, throw, and go as crazy as they'd like. Gold's also has a "big kid" room which I don't know much about since mine are too little to use it. I liked the gym itself at FF, but much like WOW, I felt the childcare room was much too small to keep my boys entertained for long enough for me to get in a good workout.

If your kids are either older, or maybe more mellow than my little boys, it might work for you. It's worth checking out. I don't recall the prices, but I think it might have been a bit cheaper than Gold's. But again, I didn't pay a lot of attention once I decided my boys wouldn't last long in their childcare facility.

I joined fitness first a few months ago and it is a nice close medium sized gym although the kids room is on the small side especially compared to Gold's. I paid $29 a month and NO deposit, but I did pay a year in advance. Don't know if you still can get that deal. It was the same I paid a Gold's Gym. I really liked Golds Gym and think they are a bit more professional and you certainly can't beat the size and equipment and programs. My biggest negative with Gold's was it was just a bit too far away to use on the spur of the moment.

I've seen a Diet-to-Go counter at NextHealth (the Urgent Care across from the Ashburn Farm Giant) in case that's any easier.

I have gotten so fat over the last couple of years people I haven't seen in awhile say "Man what happen to you" ha ha
Lets see, I could open my gym in those slowly becoming empty flex buildings then paint the outsides like one big mural and make them all disappear or perhaps let the gang people have a place to practice their graffiti but it would have to be health related mural graffiti. Certainly would not look any worse then what is already there ha ha ha maybe call it murder and flex your way to health club. figuratively of course!! you know tie it in with the street name.

Who's that guy that does the murals of ocean scenes on buildings, with orcas and dolphins and fish... get HIM to do it!!

i lived not far from these and especially the large one on the power plant really did a nice job in toning it down the whaling wall as it is called was done by one of my favorite Hawaiian artist Wyland. http://www.wyland.com/
