About 15 years ago I heard it described as Mommy block, and that it gets worse with each child..... I had 3 kids by that time and knew it was true!

Talk about a "mommy block". How many mothers out there with multiple children swore they would never have another child after the pain associated their first (c-section doesn't count)? :D

if those of us who had babies with NO DrUGS truly remember the pain of child birth- not LABOR leading up to it- but actually pushing an 8 lb being out of you- the world would be full of only children!

12 hours of labor pains prior to the water breaking were horrible, but i swear- i do not remember what i felt when pushing The Boy out- i just remember doing it.

something keeps us from remembering THAT part and it take 49% of of "remembery" with it...

    :)

Hey, with the 3rd child being born at home 'cuz I didn't have time to get to the hospital (and no it wasn't here, it wasn't a proximity to a hospital issue, it was a childcare issue!) ... I DEFINITELY did not block that one! Probably part of the reason he's the last!

The first pregnancy was planned, the second certainly was NOT! I don't think I'll ever forget how horrible pregnancy is for me. Which is probably why I cried for weeks after finding out I was pregnant with my second baby. :)

But, now I can't imagine life without him! Isn't that the way :) Somehow they make the misery all worth it!

while we do forget to some extend and want to do it again, c sections most definitely do not always rock. i had MUCH more extremely severe pain and recovery from my c section than I did from my vbac, even with the back labor. ;-)

nothing worth having isn't worth suffering for! how many more children would be thrown away, mistreated or undervalued if we didn't have to go thru so much PAIN to get them. Whether is pain of actual child birth or pain of adoption (wow- the hoops you have to jump thru, the set backs and let downs- it's heart pain vs.back pain!) bottom line:

children wouldn't cause EUPHORIA if they didn't make us suffer for them FIRST. :) i forgot my original point... lol

"If motherhood was meant to be easy, it wouldn't start with something called LABOR" - a sign in my doctor's office!
