Coyote sighting?

I'm no wildlife expert.. but I think I saw what looked like a coyote this morning while on my walk. Couldn't take a pic as it ran off before I could pull my phone out. it definitely wasn't a fox. Wondering if anyone else has sighted any around here?

This was in southern walk near the courtyard homes.

 

Wouldn’t surprise me if you saw a Coyote. I have seen a few individuals (always at night) while walking my dog through Broadlands over the years. They live in our area but are very wary of humans and are great at usually staying out of sight.

 

Oh yes. I used to walk the trails regularly. The first time I saw one (about 10 years ago?) I thought it was a dog.
It was just ambling on down the path coming towards me. I was thinking of reaching over and giving it a pet, but then I realized (woke up out of that, what ever it is, state where you are walking alone and just NOT thinking ) but instantly realized it was a wolf, bc dogs do not just go strolling along paths? no collar?

 

LOL, a coyote is NOT a wolf. A big coyote is maybe 50 pounds whereas wolves get up to 150 pounds. I have NEVER seen a wolf in the Broadlands

 

coyotes and foxes are good for the eco system. Too many rabbits, chipmunks, raccoons, possums and other small animals in the area including homes backyards.
But with the housing and data center overbuilding everywhere it is all coming to the end.
