Unlike the rec center thing.. since this isn't costing people tax dollars.. I don't think it would be that significant a difference.

I was there last night. I counted 32 different Broadlands households represented.

The most affected I might add not someone living as King of the hill. :devil2: And Cliff where are those residents you keep saying they approve that live across from the proposed hospital ??? We have only heard from one that has since moved.

And how come you did not speak about the hospital Cliff last night???
Nope you are willing to sacrifice your neighbors as you look down upon them from your perch high above.

Wasn't Miller the one that opposed fast food next to the Circle K site?

Are we to imply that you think that is a low number?

Lee, it's one thing to philosophically oppose another person's viewpoint, as I do frequently and vociferously. But you repeatedly impugn people's motives. Then when you get called on it, you whine and cry about how you are treated unfairly.

I have many friends who are polar opposite of me politically, and I gladly buy them a beer and laugh with them. But this is different. Just because you don't agree with Cliff (or others), you ACCUSE him of "sacrificing" his neighbors and being "greedy."

Where do you get off saying that? I hope people will hold you accountable for this kind of crap. Instead, you'll offer up some lame run-on-paragraph all about yourself, then end with some ha ha ha ha's, a few smiley faces and talk about "your good buddy Cliff." That's total B.S.

In my book, you don't call your "buddy" greedy and tell him he's "sacrificing" his neighbors. You come off like a likable guy, but underneath that loud mouth, big ego architect/designer facade of yours is some real meanness toward people you supposedly respect and like. I don't want a friend like that.

Just in case. If everyone believes this hospital will do no damage to the adjoining real estate values then put money into a fund for a few years to back up your claim.

I've been following this issue since I moved into Broadlands and joined the forums over 4 years ago, so there have been lots of chances for someone, ANYONE, to come up with a SHRED of evidence that the hospital would reduce adjoining property values. There have been LOTS of hospital opponents posting over the years, many of them motivated to provide such evidence if, in fact, any exists. There's thousands of hospitals around the country so there should be some empirical data out there to back up any such claim (Anyone? Hello?). The only evidence I have seen (somewhere in the 158 pages of this thread or one of the dozens of other hospital threads on these forums) points to stable, if not increased, property values of homes immediately surrounding hospitals (see, e.g., the homes around Fairfax Inova or Fair Oaks).

Sorry, but you're blowing smoke again.

Agreed. I've been silent for 4 years on this precisely because I see no evidence that my home values will be devalued due to the hospital. Thank you for the voice of reason. - Rachel

You all that don't live across from the proposed hospital are missing the point. It is not your money on the line.

So if you are so sure of yourselves put up the money to protect the ones that had no intention of living across from a hospital that takes a zoning change. Real easy to support something when you are not affected.

And it's really easy for you to come here and kick and shout about the hospital WHEN YOU ARE NOT AFFECTED SINCE YOU DON'T EVEN LIVE IN BROADLANDS.

Just stop all your fear-mongering, based on facts only present in your own imagination.

If you are so sure that the real-estate values will fall because of the hospital, and you have facts to back it up, AND YOU CARE ABOUT US SO MUCH as you seem to imply, YOU go put some money in a fund for all the people that will lose money as you claim.

Just stop all your non-sense. You make up facts and then just repeat them ad nauseam. Can't you see most people are fed up with your rhetoric in this thread? Last time it was Flex buildings, now it's the hospital. Please Lee, find a different hobby...

In my book, you're now officially a troll...
