Way to go, Lee. I hope people will remember this next time they consider inviting you to a Broadlands happy hour. I disagree with many of my neighbors on the hospital and political issues, but I don't think they are greedy, self-serving or want to "sacrifice" others because they have a different view. I think even those who oppose the hospital will agree your accusations are baseless and shameless.

Poor little Lee is playing the victim card now, just as we knew he would. Shameless.

Lee, you're walking a fine line with that statement that you don't want to cross...

Playing the victim card won't work with me. Go read the official definition of a forum troll, look in a mirror and then think really hard about your actions over the past month...

Typical snarky, sniping statement with nothing to back it up, KTDid. Forgive me for sticking up for neighbors being accused of being greedy and selfish. So I won't give it a rest though you feel compelled to tell me what to do.

I disagree with people's viewpoints strongly at times, but that's different than saying my neighbors who oppose the hospital are "greedy" because they are putting their home values ahead of healthcare for suffering people. Oy.

And neither do you Lee - in fact you don't even live in the development at all. So why don't you apply your own rules to yourself - Your opinion doesn't count.

Lee, we don't need a town crier - so please stop acting like you are doing us all a favor by 'exposing' everything you continue to make up here.

You've done nothing over the last month but accuse people of illegal or dubious actions, including a county elected official; called into question repeatedly the motives of individuals; and continue to make stuff up to entertain yourself all with zero basis. Instead when you get called out, you just make up something else. We tire of your antics - clean up your act and drop the trolling.

This thread has really run its course and nears its bedtime if this is all that is left to be posted.

If I may, as a complete outsider who has nothing to gain or lose by all of this. I am not buddies more or less with anyone that posts here. I have met a few of you at one happy hour and we all got along that night. I was afraid to announce who I was when I joined this forum because the company I worked for, NVPools, had an ongoing contract with Broadlands and I didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea one way or another.

Lee, I have no doubt that you are an intelligent person who cares about others, but you are, IMO, completely out of line. You have as much right as I do to tell the people of Broadlands how to vote or what to think and that even goes back to when I lived in Ashburn Village. If you truely believe that people are evil (my word) because they put their needs above the needs of their neighbor, then I believe you are wrong. I do not agree with Cliff on everything he has posted (at times I find his posts to be more boring than yours), but he is, IMO, a reasonable, well informed person who does not act on a whim. Personally, after reading some of these threads, I wonder why people like Cliff would want to serve on the board for the way they are attacked regardless of how they vote.

Once again, I have nothing to lose or gain here. I read these threads and post occasionaly because my best friend and old roommate live in Broadlands. Broadlands is also one of the few communities that I cared about when I worked at NV. That is why I am careful as to how I post. I am a guest of this forum as you are. You have crossed a line that you had no right crossing. I suggest you curb your tone so that people may enjoy these forums.

Sorry for the rant everyone. Just my $.02 from the left coast.

    Rob

    Holy moley.
This topic sure does bring out the worst in people.

... And in the last few dozen pages, no really big, new facts on either side of this. Just more and more rhetoric against, a whole lot of name-calling and righteous indignation, and a healthy dose of vitriol.

The sad thing is, if things hadn't gone politically awry years ago, it seems "here" could have been "by now" without all the... delays. C'est la vie, though, right?

This is terrific to hear, please let us know how this goes in the future, if the hospital does get approved and built.

    ---

Also, since I don't get the Anti-BRMC propagand-emails, please keep posting when the "Anti-BRMC/Anti-HCA PAC" decides to have more of its gatherings. I'm happy to start attending as a member of the "pro-hospital" lobby. I've already sent my e-mails, and if the supervisors want to see faces, I'll be sure to provide just that. I may be just one in favor to the thirty-two against, but it'll help show that there are people in favor. If I plan to go, would anyone else like to join me? I'll even bring cookies.

I know I shouldn't, but are you saying that I support the hospital? I already posted that I have nothing to gain one way or another and I'm sorry I wasn't specific enough for you Lee. I stated I was on the west coast, but you are wrong. For those that really care, I am in Studio City, CA, 3 houses away from the Brady Bunch house, not Hollywood.

You just don't get it do you? Add me to the list.

Has anyone on the anti-BRMC side of this issue in 1600 posts yet found any solid data supporting the accusation that a hospital built where HCA is planning will cause a drop in property values? It seems to be the last big drum being pounded (aside from the various degrees of NIMBYism, oddly coming from people for whom this ISN'T in their backyard anyway...).

If not, I think I may look into it. Its one of those accusations I've never seen borne out in real life in all the places I've lived when I've lived near a hospital or near a planned building site.

As I posted earlier, I've never seen any anti-hospital person provide a single shred of evidence (even weak evidence) that the hospital would (or even could) reduce property values. Years back, I spent some time of my own doing my own Internet research and found nothing to substantiate any such claim.

And you can be damn sure that if any evidence existed Inova would have plastered that evidence all over Broadlands to ensure every resident knew about it. (As an aside, I find it curious how much money a so-called "non-profit" company is spending to prevent competition in Loudoun County--makes you wonder.)
