Are the Vacarro Cannoli's from the Baltimore Factory or the other one?

I am just wondering if the Del Rey (mexican rest) is owned by the same one in Leesburg? We love the Del Rey in Leesburg and it is a double bonus to have a mexican restaurant in broadlands.

Del Rey in Leesburg? Didn't know there was one or are you thinking Del Rio on Market St?

I noticed the Thai place looks close to/if not already open. Anyone know???

I talked to the guy at Manhattan by Food Lion. They are the owners of "Del Rey". They are not associated with "Del Rio" in Leesburg. He said they will open in like 3-6 weeks.

Sorry for the confusion... if Manhattan's are the owners of Del Rey, I am sure the food will be good...having tons of cravings for Mexican food lately... guess it's the hormones. My poor hubby has gone as far as Chantilly (El Picante).

I haven't been in that restaurant specifically, but I'm pretty sure I saw an "Open" sign on it yesterday when I was in the plaza.

We went to the Thai place Friday for carry out. Food was excellent. Service friendly. Family run business. From what I was told they are new to the restaurant business, which if correct, didn't cause a problem. Usually a place will have a few glitches upon opening, but from my experience I didn't see any.

Unfortuantely Safaeway has MANY exclusives and we would not be bale to put a Trader Joe's in that shopping center.

If you just can improve the service in Safeway especially the checkouts, that would go a long ways. You can have 3 people in the store and it still takes forever to checkout. I have complained to the managers many times and they seem very reluctantly try to improve the situation even if the lines are long. I very rarely go there anymore. Seems most Safeways I have been to are this way.

    I just don't understand it!!!!!

We shop at Safeway regularly and virtually never wait in line. But then we tend to go on weekday mornings which may not be the busiest times.

Well I have not shopped there in a year so maybe it has changed or early mornings are different, or I just have bad luck checking out at safeway. :)

i shop regularly at Safeway and have noticed the lines int he past month or so- i wonder if there is new management or if they are understaffed? it used to be that any time there was more than 3 people in line a safeway associate would come over and take you to a newly opening register. that hasn't happened in awhile. i love the selection (and the music they play while you shop! go 80's lite rock!!!) there so i hope they get their act together...

just a quick note to say the Thai place is fantastic! we give it two thumbs way up. they had great chicken pad thai, and chicken basil was just the right amount of spice.

just had dinner at Orchid Thai- nice atmosphere, decent food- it's worth checking out. I had the Pan Beef and the fresh basil-y flavor was fantastic. Have to say the restaurant in front of Regal (4912?) theater in Sterling is far and away better- much more flavorful pad thai, steak is more tender. But this place has time to grow and improve, and while the service was only so-so, they try VERY hard which means alot.

Once they work oput the growing pains, it will be okay for a close to home date night, but we'll probably stick to 4912 after a movie for Thai, and keep our Broadlands date nights at the sushi place and Bonefish.

Regarding Indian food overlander, Banjahara (or is it Banjara) near Giant is fantastic Indian food, and the supper club in Worldgate- while further away, is also good.
