4th of July Fireworks on the Mall - Any Tips?

You're on! My husband's family had apple trees on their farm.

 

We did that about 7 years ago at least. The situation certainly could have changed.

 

Actually, if you go to the end of the Broadlands Blvd road extension, past Clyde's, you can see all of Reston, Herndon and Tysons from there. If its a clear night, you can watch all kinds of fireworks, from a distance however... but its kind of cool to see.

 

Does Ashburn Farm put on a fireworks show? If so, where are some good vantage points?

 

Ashburn Farm does not sponsor a July 4 fireworks show. They do a show during the summer kick-off, Memorial Day weekend.

 

You need to be as close to the fireworks as possible.... it's best to FEEL the fireworks and not just see them from a distance IMHO! =)

 

We have been to Baltimore County to Oregon Ridge Park to BSO's July 4th events and fireworks. Great place for picnic and to watch the fireworks! It is sponsored by the Baltimore Symphony Organization. The BSO Star Spangled Spectacular is from 07/03/08 to 07/05/08. Gates opens at 5 pm and concert and fireworks starts at 8 pm.

We are headed to Baltimore County Inner Harbor and the Baltimore County areas later next week for vacation. We stay at the Hunt Valley Embassy Suites in Hunt Valley, MD. The Light Rail is right there by the MD Wegmans at Hunt Valley and Embassy Suites. Great place for families.

This Freedom Fest at the Brambleton Town Center sounds like fun, especially for the little ones, a parade they can be in and big people fun with three bands including the real cool Monster Band.

 

I read in today's Loudoun Extra that Dulles Town Center's fireworks display is THIS Saturday night. It's part of their Liberty Festival. Here's a link to the Liberty Festival at the Town Center. If I remember correctly, the main entrance is where the stage and all the childrens' activities are:
