    It's not a good thing for those of us that do have cable internet with Adelphia. Click here to see why.

    Overland Park - Hence the "OP" in OP_Dude.
    Cable wasn't laid until October (a month after we moved in). Last week we got some junk mail offering cable Internet for $29.95 for the first 3 months. Sounded like a good deal so I called. When I gave them my address they said our section had not been hooked up yet. The cable was laid but that was as far as they got.

    Interesting ... I believe the cable infrastructure is already there, if Bill Hazel's boys did the prep there as they did in the rest of Broadlands North. The problem I see is that Adelphia has not run the main supply cable out to Overland Park.

    I wish I knew if the Richmond American subdivision on the other side of Shellhorn had their cable put in. In any case, it may be a case of supply and demand. Adelphia is willing to supply, but there's no demand, everyone's got Dish, so where's the incentive to spend the bucks to supply an area with one or two users.

    I do feel for you, we didn't get cable availability here until 3 or 4 months after we moved in.

    The main supply cable is there. Most of Overland Park has cable. It's just our block and maybe a couple of other streets that don't have cable. Like I said they came out and laid the cable for our block a month after we all moved in. By then everyone was tired of waiting and already got dish. Because of that maybe they have just written off our streets and don't want to bother hooking us up but they have a responsibility to do so since they have been granted the monopoly.
    It would be nice to have a choice of cable providers like some other places have.

    Ping statistics for 198.6.1.1:
    Packets: Sent = 2560, Received = 1200, Lost = 1360 (53% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 21ms, Maximum = 4401ms, Average = 1124ms

    good times :(
