Adult Swim

Now that the pools are officially open, does anyone know when/if the Southern Walk or the Community pool will be open in early morning for Adult Lap swimming?

 

It will open up starting Thursday June 15th
the lap swim will be 6 to 8 am at community center pool on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings

Is there a lap lane (or lanes) sectioned off during the weekdays at the Southern Walk pool?

 

All 3 pools always have one 25m lane that is dedicated to lap swimming.
Depending on interest we may add an additional morning at southernwalk pool that will be for 50 m swimming but befoe we pay for the additional gaurds we need to see how many people are interested this year (there was enough intrest last year to warrent the additional day)

That's good news! One more question: can the guards, at their discretion, section off additional lanes for lap swimming if pool usage is low during the day?

 

I have only once seen a day where there was more then 2 people using the lap lanes at the same time. In fact most of the time they are empty. As of right now the HOA does not own any extra 25m lanes ropes in order to add more lanes. All the additional ropes that are there are owned by the swim team. If you are finding that it is hard to come by a lane to swim laps let me know and I will see what I can work out. My guess is that it will not be a problem to get a lane.

I have a swim question....is the big pool in southern walk allowing floats on Sundays this year like they did last year?

 

They will but it will not start until afte the 4th of July weekend. From now until July 4th the pools tend to be very crowded so we do not start it as it limits the number of people that can be in the pool. After 4th of July there are a lot less people comming to the pools so it will begin then. Watch for times and dates in the July newsletter
