With summer in full swing and vacations probably starting, I thought I'd talk about a wonderful place to board your animals. She boards out of her home and even does door-to-door service. My two dogs boarded last Nov. for a week and came home happy and clean. I'm using her again in a few weeks. A great alternative to cage boarding, which I have never done. I would never leave my dogs locked in a cage for a day, let alone a week or two. It's nice knowing I can leave and my girls will be well taken care of. She does cats and exotic animals as well. Here's the website if anyone is interested: www.inntodogs.com

Yes, it's far, but she has actually just moved to Stafford to a better, bigger place. Like I said, she will pick up and deliver you aniimals. I used this service and it was wonderful! I had looked everywhere and she was the best, hands down!

Another option is in home care for your animals from a local pet sitting service. We have used Woofies (woofies.net) for over three years now for our four dogs and periodic other animals (frog, hermit crabs, fish, etc.). They spend 30-45 minutes during each visit playing with the dogs, exercising them and most importantly giving them TLC. We are able to go away without worrying about the care our dogs receive as we know the Woofies team is taking great care of them.

Fredricksburg is kinda far...you said they pick up and deliver - but they charge for that as well.......I'd rather have someone come to the house.

I've used Everything and the Dog twice so far this summer, based on reviews from this forum, and have been *very* pleased with the service. She brings in my mail & newspaper, waters all my outdoor potted plants (and I have quite a few), and takes care of the cat. All for $3.00 less per day than Stream Valley Vet boarding.

Actually, like I state above, she has moved to Stafford just recently. Anyhow, I understand this isn't for everyone. I, personally, like that she's there 24/7 and my dog gets to be with the family and not alone all day. Especially now that I only have one dog as my 2nd passed away a few months ago. And yes, it costs for transportion, but it's worth it. All this is just my opinion and I was just giving a thumbs up to Inntodogs. I'm not asking everyone to agree.

my Jack Russell was boarded with one of their walkers and her family, and he returned to us happy and healthy! it's expensive but worth it to know my dog is being cared for 24-7 by a family of dog lovers!
