Any Good Housecleaning Services?

I tried The Maids (yellow uniforms-- I see them advertised in the ValPak). I was not impressed at all. They cleaned my house 4 times and each time I had to call and report something-- cobwebs, dishes left in sink, furniture out of place, beds not being made. I felt the manager was arguing with me everytime I called. They were also the most expensive service I used.

I now use a private lady who cleans to make extra money and have been very happy with her.

 

Maybe you're not looking for one, but you'd be suprised with what you end up with. And how could you find the use of the words 'indentured servant' offensive? They're not indentured to you, they're indentured to whoever arranged their passage here. Anyhow, good luck with your search...I recommend you request background checks on whoever you hire and make sure they're legal at least.

 

Brim, what I don't understand is your incessant need to pull off topic like you have in several different posts. I do appreciate your original suggestion (although a bit curt) to use the search function. But as I (and others) found, the search found posts that were not all that current. So, there you have it. That is ALL I am going to say on the subject to you.

How much does a housecleaning service typically cost per visit...say for a 3BR Townhome in Broadlands...just a basic cleaning--vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms, etc (not including laundry or dishes)?

Hello and welcome newcomers! Don't let any of the disconcerting subjects stop you from posting!!!

Okay...I'm in a Spruce model in Southern Walk and have used Best Maid Services (BMS) ever since 2003.

Weekly rates are $65 and bi-weekly is $80. I've been pleased with the service. BMS is insured and bonded. When there have been some things I've not liked (items not placed back as I have them for example) I just let them know.

As an FYI and not to start any additional discussions, most of the workers are hispanic and the woman who cleans my home speaks very little english, however the manager who always drops her off as well as inspects her work, speaks excellent english so language has not been a barrier.

I'm sorry...I am using my work computer so I do not have their contact info handy.

I don't mean to divert the thread, but you mentioned that you just moved here from Alexandria. I was wondering if you are still working in that area? My husband is currently commuting to Alexandria, King Street area. Also, please do post your experience with the cleaning service.. Welcome to the neighborhood! It's a great place to live. We use a cleaning service that charges $100.00 for our 3500 square foot house. They come once per month. Sorry, can't really recommend them at the time because I've had some quality issues with them. Just wanted to give you a price range.

 

ouch. staying COMPLETELY out of the discussion at hand, let me recommend Gina's Solutions. They clean our house (3000 sq ft for $65 bi weekly if they don't do the guest bedroom and bathroom). I know they clean one of our neighbors' houses as well, and they're happy.
