I was surfing through the Loudoun County site and came across some documents on the suburban planning area. It basically says that the county wants to define "four distinct communities" in the eastern part of the county. The four communities, Ashburn, Dulles, Potomac, and Sterling, would each have it's own town center. I don't think any of the communities have selected a town center yet, but I was curious if anyone has heard anything.

I know that the their ideal town center would have between thirty and sixty acres. I also know that there is a sixty acre parcel of land across the street from Safeway. I wonder if this would ever make it on the short list.

I think the Moorefield Station development is more likely, unless they are looking at the South Riding area, with Broadlands being part of Ashburn - though not center. Just my guess...

You might be right. I did see something about Moorefield Station being considered.

Another thing I was wondering about is what would they call the town center in the Dulles area since the current Dulles Town Center is in the Sterling area and might actually become that area's town center?

A few years ago, I attended the one day workshop hosted by the Board of Supervisors. It was a good meeting with a lot of participants and a lot of good ideas emerged.
I haven't heard a thing about it since the meeting ended.

This may be ignorant - as I'm new to the area and don't know where Moorefield Station is, but when we looked in the Brambleton area they did say that there would be one there. Am I talking about the same thing?

Moorfield station is between Loudoun Co Parkway and south of us. It's a large area of land thats suppose to be like a town center. Last time I checked they haven't broken ground. This community was in the works for several years.
