Has anyone else noticed the truly ugly blue lighted tree beside the Glory Days in SW Plaza? Can anything be done to get them to take it away? When you drive by the place at night the shopping center looks nice except for that tree. I also can't imagine if I lived in the Townhomes that backup to that area and could see it off my deck and back windows.

don't forget the nice clashy awnings they put up to go with the solid green ones in the rest of the shopping plaza.

we live in one of those houses that backs up...i haven't noticed the tree, but i'll check tonight. luckily, once it warms up, those trees will thicken up so we can't see that crap.

A bit nit-picky IMHO. Just because you do not like something does not mean everyone else does. I drive by them every day and they do not bother me.

And as Woop said, when the trees have leaves, you won't be able to see them.

Sorry, I like the blue light tree. It stays. Final decision.

WHAT?!?!?! A decison was made??? But we haven't had dozens of pages mindless banter over it yet!
Can we at least wait until the HOA is blamed for the lights. ;)

    Funny one Boomer....

The tree is just interesting. My primary issue with it is: What does it add?
i.e. why is it there? If it served a purpose fine but seems like a blue lighted tree just for the sake of distracting drivers as they go by and force them to look toward the restaurant. That seems like a bad idea to me.

I would hazard a guess that GD views the tree as ambience for the patio seating.

Whether you think it's ugly or not, it seems to have served a purpose. It got people to talk about the establishment. Now people might just stop by just to see how ugly this tree is, and if they stop for that, maybe they'll stop and eat.

Sounds like the manager deserves a raise, if that is the effect of the tree!

FWIW ... its in a commercial area. All the HOA can do is mention it to the Commercial Owners Association.

However, is it visible from any of the Broadlands homes? If I remember the original design, all the front of all the buildings face Wynridge and south.

the tree sits off to the side though, i'll check tonight if i can see blue out my back window since we back up to the shopping center. Like i said before though, once the trees and underbrush fill in, i won't be able to see the tree...just hear the outdoor ruckus! ;)

Just went to check it out. I can see the blue tree from my deck. Although I can also see the score of the game, what the special is, and what neighbors are at the bar. ;)

apparently people use the dumpsters in the middle of the night, b/c i heard all that the other night. it was bad enough at midnight when the bottles were being dumped and i heard shattering glass...but at 3:30 or 4:00 when i heard someone dumping stuff, now it makes me happy to have that shopping center back there. glad i paid a premium for this lot :)

Yeah - finally saw the blue tree the other night. If this is the worst thing that happens around here, we are truly blessed.

Oh yeah, and the "horrible awnings." I'll take those over a car bomb any day.

    Oy - whateva!

i ate dinner at glory days last night out on the patio (so i could admire the tree). the last two times we went, it was fine. last night was unbearable. i went inside to get myself another beer b/c i got tired of waiting, and then the bartender gave me the same stellar service i received outside. finally i got a glance out of the corner of her eye with a "uhhh...need somethin"? not sure i'll be returning there...
