Need Advice Back-up Daycare Options?

We are trying to decide whether to accept a daycare opening in DC, which would be a few minutes from my work. Our daughter is currently at Kindercare Broadlands, but it is difficult for me to maintain a work schedule that allows me to get home before Kindercare closes. One concern we have with putting her in daycare downtown is what we could do if we needed to put her in daycare on a day that I was not going into the city - for example, if I had a business trip or it I was sick.

Does anyone know of any drop-in daycare options in Broadlands or Ashburn? My husband works in Chantilly, so any options around there (or anywhere in between) would work as well. My employer does not participate in any back-up care programs.

Check with the local day care places... I seem to remember that they reserve a few slots for drop-offs. It is more expensive but an option. I think Open Arms does this too.

 

Westfields Play & Learn in Chantilly (off of Newbrook Dr.) has drop-in options in case of emergency. My children went there from 6 mths - 6 years. I would highly recommend checking them out for a full-time daycare slot. I work in Chantilly and they actually have two locations (on both sides of 28). I took (and still use for back-up care) my children to the one off of Newbrook.
