The lease has been signed, and the bank going into the new Retail Area will be Bank of America. It will be their second branch in Ashburn, with their first by the Harris Teeter near Rt 7 in the Village.

online banking is why I LEFT BoA ages ago. They wanted too much money for it while CC was better.

Of course that was years ago now. Where I left CC because Crestar had more locations where I moved... then I moved out here.. CC is everywhere.. Crestar was no where :(

    Just can't win:shakehead:

So, is there anyone that has had both Chevy Chase & BOA? Which is better? We've had CC forever & occasionally consider switching...Isn't BOA the one w/the round up feature when you use their credit card? Also, does (or has) anyone used USAA banking?

Which one is better ?? We had Chevy Chase when we refinanced the 'builder mortgage' right after we moved in. Bloody fee for everything, and never notified us about rate increases until they occurred. Plus in their favor: There seems to be a branch on every streetcorner. Minus: there's a reason why they charge fees for everything ... some income has to pay for those branches.

BofA, we've had them through three moves, in two different states, and always (until now) had a branch office close by. Great online banking, no ATM fees at any of their machines, or at affliated banks in Europe. Pluses: they're all over the US. Minus: there are none close to Pittsburgh .. !!

We use USAA banking and love it. They reimburse all ATM fees since they have no local banks. I like their web interface, very easy to use. We also have our car insurance and home owners insurance through them. One place for all ( I don't have my mortgage through them though). What I did for deposits was, I have a local bank account that I keep a little money in. When I get a check, which happens more frequently than I would have thought, I deposit it into the local bank, then pull the funds over to USAA. They have an option where you can transfer funds between bank institutions. You just have to set it up. Very nice

Yup ... and I believe it was for ossifers only, so us enlisted types got the cold shoulder. Not sure if thats still the same, but when I retired, all of a sudden I got solicited.

Nope, sorry ... wouldn't take me when I was active, I'm not giving you business when I'm retired !!

You qualify. USAA has great rates and benefits. If I could, I would join.
